G'day Hugo and All,

I was just wondering Hugo what state of preparedness do we have in Australia should we, and I hope NOT, ever have a disaster like the Torrey Canyon? Valdez or any of thee other such tanker tragedies that have occured, occur here in Oz?

Would not be hard to set up a ficticious trial to test all that we have and what is available?

Oz beaches and shorelines being what they are so very diverse then I wonder who would make the decisions needed?

John A. Gamblin, Hastings, Victoria, land of Oz

Hi everybody -

This may seem somewhat off-topic but, as marine oil-spills regularly affect seabirds, some of you may be interested in the article published in the latest issue of Nature which is accessible at the website:

Cheers,
Hugo
