Hm ! You blokes with Magellans seem to have all the trouble ( as I did with
mine before I binned it - sometimes it wouldn't get a fix even after more
than
ten minutes).

I hadn't used my Garmin GPS II Plus since I was in Tasmania last November
and all this chat about them not working if not used for a while had me a
little concerned . Anyway, I was out with Birds SA this morning and tried it
out at one of the locations we were birding . Even though it was last used
in Tasmania five months ago it only took 20 secs and up she came.
Excellent.
I guess one can't expect Rolls Royce performance when one buys a Volkswagen
eh !.
