To the best of my knowledge (I will run further checks early in the week and
let you know if I am wrong), the recommended slope of a disabled access is
1:15 with a maximum of 1:12.  The minimum width is 1000cm and there should
be handrails or curbs to prevent wheelchairs from becoming airborne (not a
recommended method of descending).

Handrails are the better option as they aid non-wheelchair confined
disabled.
