<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Last&nbsp;Tuesday week (27/02)&nbsp;just before
dusk,&nbsp;I&nbsp;saw 5 or 6 White-throated Needletails.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>The&nbsp;wing/body length ratio only left
Fork-tailed Swifts to consider and these did not have a forked tail.&nbsp; A
couple showed white behind the belly. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I was only able to see them as they passed by the
gaps in the trees. They were high &amp; travelling towards the north in a loose
group&nbsp;but individually zig-zagging a little&nbsp;as if looking for
insects.&nbsp; </FONT></DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><FONT face=Arial size=2>It had been raining the
previous few days and it did again on the Thursday.</FONT></FONT></DIV>

<DIV>I had been checking out a station dam about 7km south of the city
which&nbsp;had been bone dry for about a year. It was host to several dozen
<STRONG>Pictorella Mannikins</STRONG> and 4<STRONG> Painted Finch</STRONG> plus
a range of other species including a 2 unfledged White-winged Trillers still in
their nest.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>I had not seen PMs for over a year and even never so far south. The PF have
been very rare but now the grasses are seeding I have recorded them feeding only
300m from my home.</DIV>
