A few incidental sightings while replacing the fences on my place.
Two Rufous Fantails in the dense growth on Mulgoa Creek. Spotless Crake on
exposed mud in a small dam; despite three inches of rain and everything
looking very green, there has been no runoff. A family of Crested
Shrike-tits have been around for weeks.A white-bellied Sea Eagle roosting
along the creek for at least two weeks last month, possibly after large carp
trapped in waterholes, coming up Mulgoa Creek from the Nepean River. Rainbow
Bee-eaters flying north just before the rain.A flock of fifty plus European
Goldfinches, attracted by an outbreak of Scotch thistles next
door.Chestnut-breasted Mannikins resident for over a year now; I've fenced
off the creeklines and all kinds of seeding grasses have come up. Red-browed
and Double-barred finches always. Eight Brown Quail in one fenced-off area.
Long-billed Corellas feeding in the neighbour's horse yards. Five
Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos, one a begging juvenile, in Radiata
pines.Galahs, White Cockatoos, Red-rumped Parrots, Rainbow Lorikeets.
Red-whiskered Bul-buls .Tree Martins. Ravens, and a family of White-winged
Choughs.
                   Cheers
                      Michael
