Hi all,

I'm in the process of developing a comprehensive birding database
application. The first baby steps can be downloaded from:
http://users.bigpond.com/trentandmary/birds/
<http://users.bigpond.com/trentandmary/birds/>

There's still a long way to go to tidy it all up, but I thought it was
worthwhile posting something for people to have a look at. There's
potentially many bugs in the application, which is a compiled Access 97 mde
front end and back end set up (for those that know Access).

The Australian bird list in the database comes directly from the Queensland
birding site where Bob Forsyth had posted it (Thanks Bob). Hopefully it's
fairly intuitive (because I haven't written any help yet!!) but from this
Australian list you should find it easy to construct state/region/site lists
where ever you want.

I'd like to thank John Boyce who went to the trouble of sending me a CD of
the database he uses... Thanks John, I haven't pinched your world bird list
work yet, but I intend to expand the scope. You've also made it clear to me
how easy it should be to provide a mapping capability!!

Let me know what you think (particularly let me know if it works?!?!)

Trent
