G'day, After a short absence the Laughing Gull was present today at Buckley's Hole at 1130 just before high tide. It was on the grassy island at the northern end of the lagoon, together with about 50 Silver Gulls and a sprinkling of Gull-billed Terns. Further to my previous note that the bird was beginning to moult out of breeding plumage, it now has a white forehead and white around the throat. It doesn't seem too happy with the hot weather and spent all the time that we were there, some 15 minutes, sitting and panting. This was an Aussie tick for my visitors so we soon adjourned to Scoopy's for a celebration brunch. Cheers - Trevor.
