I'm sure Jo Wieneke will be able to correct this more surely, but the North
Queensland twitchathon group racked up 250 species, not 350 - an Australian
record I think and a prodigious total, but Australian diversity simply
doesn't match the birding hotspots in parts of Africa and South America.
