Today as i was walking home through a park in wahroonga i found a dead quail of some sort it was being picked at by a currawong and it a had a naasty wound on its head.
(it has no leg bands or anything to say it ia an aviary bird.
And i do not think there is any aviarys around this small walkway)
I took the quail home and looked through the books to find that it was either a red chested or little button quail it is not a brown quail or a painted button quail for i have had experience with these species.
ps It has a buff band around neck and buff on rump and  white under parts.
