Absolutely delighted to have a Great Bowerbird choose my front garden to set up his bower - quite an impressive structure - I don't think I could make one if I tried. Instead of going for the white & army green colour scheme that seems to be favoured, he's incorporated a fair bit of red, some blue and purple. Green items include a batch of baby capsicums, which no doubt were souvenired from someones prize vegie patch - he often marches around the bower with one of them in his mouth as if he's really proud of them. On the floor, midway along the bower is a pile of white pebbles from the driveway around the corner. It's great to be able to watch the daily goings on from my front door. His interior decorating skills don't seemed to have lurered many chicks yet.
