Last weekend the 12/13th October I participated in the Regent Honeyeater Survey in the Capertee Valley our team Sue Kitchen Les & Sharon Friedman & myself found the following on a site near Glen Alice on the Capertee river which had only puddles of water:4 Regent Honeyeaters, 25+ Plum Headed Finches, 8 Budgies in beautiful plumage, all drinking from the remaining puddles and 2 Banded Lapwings in a paddock, as well we had Diamond Firetails, A Little Eagle & 100's of Masked & White browed Wood Swallows. The Regent's were feeding on Lerps although at Glen Davis the White Box was in flower with lots of smaller honeyeaters: white plumed, Yellow faced and surprisingly lots of New Hollands feeding in them also seen were Little & Musk Lorikeets.
The Valley looks very dry but as usual the birding was excellent
I luv birding
