Hi,

can anyone tell me if its uncommon to see Bourke's Parrot around the Alligator Gorge area (Flinders Ranges, between Mambray Creek and Napperby). Three or 4 flew into a tree above my head last weekend, and the first thing that came into my mind was Bourke's, yet the book I use doesn't show them coming down quite as far (obviously, these birds haven't read the same book!).

If it had been one bird I might have thought aviary escapee, but this was a small group of them.

cheers,
Karina
