Hi everyone,

Tony Russel wrote, "why would anyone won't to poach
grasswrens."

Striated Grasswrens are, or would be, a popular cage
bird if there were more of them in captivity. They are
placid in a mixed collection and are easily maintained
on a captive diet.

I'm both a birdwatcher and an aviculturist(finches)
and fell strongly about the removal of birds from the
wild, especially finches and softbills (insectivorous
birds).

There are a few bad apples in aviculture, as in any
hobby, that would pay large amounts of money for
grasswrens they know have been taken from the wild.

My advice is to be very careful who you tell about
your sightings. I never reveal where I locate finches
to anyone except family and other trusted
birdwatchers.
Sad but necessary.
