Hi Birders,
It is good to know that Swift Parrots are returning
back to Tasmania and that they have turned up around Hobart. However,
following my return to the Central Coast after two weeks birding in South
Australia, the first two birds that I heard on Saturday 7th September around my
house were Swift Parrots and a Channel-billed Cuckoo. Subsequently I have sen up
to 15+ Swift Parrots feeding and roosting in my street throughout the weekend,
while the Channel-billed Cuckoo has not been seen or heard since!
The Swift Parrots have been in residence at Murray
Street Bateau Bay from 18 May to the present date!
