Hello all, Pitt Town continues to improve, today there were 2Caspian
Terns, 2 Whiskered Terns,1 Red-necked Avocet. the Pectoral is still there.
I also met 3 birdo's there as I was leaving,
they are rarer than Pectoral SP's.
At the turf farms yesterday, looked like a pair of day old Masked Plover
Chicks were out for there first walk, when two dogs bounded into view. The
chicks were walking up the bitumen road at the time, they both imediatley
lay on there side on the rd as though dead. The dogs parked themselves on
the turf close by with the adults giving them curry. The chicks were out of
danger as far as the dogs were concerned but a large truck was coming down
the rd. The truck sped by mm's from them, Im sat in the car praying they
woud'nt move, thankfully they stayed put. Then the guy who owned the dogs
came out of the paddock on his tractor and went past them, more praying
which was answered in the affirmative. The dogs went of with the boss and
some mins later the all clear was given and the chicks arose and ran to the
protection of mums wings. Im not religeous but some one needed thanking.
