Had a look at Gosling Creek Reservoir yesterday which is just on the southern outskirts of Orange. Gosling Creek Reservoir was Orange's original water supply until superseded by bigger reservoirs. Although not fantastic birding wise it still is good for more common water birds. Council is currently in the process of turning this reservoir into a new picnic/recreation/birdwatching? mecca. When I first visited here earlier this year it was a mess of waist high weeds and blackberrys. Now tarred tracks have been laid down and all weeds cleared out leaving at present a bare dirt landscape. As things develop it will be interesting to note changes(improvements?) in bird populations. Anyway, this was Saturday's list:-
