I couldn't find anything sinister in the message text, but the message size was
13Kb - a little big for what was really only a single page of text plus
formatting tags. I had a look at the HTML and couldn't see anything sinister,
but it may well have had something nasty tucked away in the headers.

Until someone proves otherwise, I still don't believe a plain text message can
do anything to your computer. But I can foresee a time when most email is
transmitted as formatted text including inline images and even movie/sound
clips - then we'll really have to be on our guard. More and more I think it
makes sense to read one's unfiltered email via a web browser rather than
downloading it all to me Hard Disk first. But that means spending longer
online, where you are just as likely to be targetted by someone probing around
at random IP (internet) addresses. Guess the future looks rosy for the
antivirus developers.
