Letter-winged Kite in Myall Lakes NP (NSW coast)

My sister is a biologist with study sites in the heath of Myall Lakes NP
along the "mining road" which runs  from Hawkes Nest to Seal Rocks Road.
Last week she noticed larger numbers of Elanus kites with up to 10
in view sometimes.  She id-ed two as Letter-winged Kites based on the
underwing pattern as they flew overhead.  Maybe another consequence of
the inland drought.  She's seen a single Letter-Winged Kite in the same
area about 4 years ago.  She says the area has a high rodent-density
and Black-Shouldered Kites breed nearby.  Last time I drove the  "mining
road", it was passable in a 2wd, if you drove very slowly.
