Plum-headed Finch, & mistletoe

Hi again,

I have replied to Tom privately in more detail but just wanted to mention
here that Plum-headed Finches are always possible in the Capertee Valley,
although sometimes difficult to find. In my post yesterday I didn't mean to
give the impression that they are not there, just that I didn't see them
last week. I did see a good-sized flock about a month ago at the gate to
"The Crown" (along the Capertee-Glen Davis road). Unfortunately the most
reliable site for them is well within private property so not accessible to
the public.

Also, Dean Portelli's message about Munghorn Gap reminded me that the
mistletoe is flowering well in parts of the Blue Mountains at the moment.
Along with the banksias it is a magnet for various honeyeaters. I haven't
checked but guess it is a different species to the Box Mistletoe in the
Capertee Valley, which is not in flower right now.
