Taking advantage of school holidays i headed west to Forbes today. i began at Back Yamma State Forest where the birds included:-
Common Bronzewing
Peaceful Dove
Turquoise Parrot (finally)
White Throated Treecreeper
Buff Rumped Thornbill
Yellow Thornbill
Speckled Warbler
Spiny Cheeked Honeyeater
White Eared Honeyeater
White Browed Babbler
Southern Whiteface
Grey Shrike Thrush

I still missed the Gilbert's Whistler, do they exist here?
My mystery bird was a thornbill with  a very red rump. Would this likely be a Chestnut Rumped Thornbill or just a brightly rumped Inland Thornbill?

Also had a quick look at Gum Swamp where I had excellent close up views of the Whistling Kites and Blue Billed Ducks. There were also several Pink Eared Ducks and many black ducks and teal. In the woodlands were a group of Grey Crowned Babblers.
