Hi Mick, you asked:
>Has anybody had any experiences similar to this one?

Thank goodness, no. But it did bring to mind one afternoon I was walking in
the heath at Lockley Pylon (in the Blue Mountains) a couple of years ago,
and a Wedge-tailed Eagle was following me, circling around me as I walked.
It was soaring so low and close that I could see the pupils of its eyes as
it turned its head to look at me. I still don't know if it was just curious
or had more sinister intentions, but I did find it a little unnerving,
being out on a windswept, treeless ridge with nowhere to shelter!
