g'day all,
John Harris enquired about  "the definitive list of Australian birds" and "accepted rarities"

1
Have a look at the list published by the Australian Museum http://www.amonline.net.au/birds/stuff/bird_list.htm

It is based on "C & B" but the Web Page states in part ..

To it have been added any new species for which records have been accepted by the Records Appraisal Committee of Birds Australia.
It omits records of vagrant species not yet accepted, ship-assisted species, introduced species that were established but are now extirpated and species cited in the literature that are now not accepted.
No attempt has been made to incorporate taxonomic revisions subsequent to Christidis and Boles; that list is currently being revised and any changes will be reflected here when it is published.

I understand Walter Boles is still the Collection Manager, Ornithology at the Museum so would have input to the list.

lists Rarities accepted, but does not appear to provide a separate species list accepted since "C & B"

Regards, Bob Forsyth, Mount Isa, NW Qld.
