G'day Debbie,

Thought I should get up and go and check on a report I
got this am about very noisey small green parrots in
my local park, today? we have a lot of flowering gum
trees there, at present, so off I troops. When I got
there I soon realised I had forgotten my BHP ear
muffs, boy where they needed, the feeding frenzy was
on and I counted what I believe to be about 300 Swift
Parrots, just after 2pm. This is the greatest number I
have ever seen there. I'll keep an eye on this spot
over the next week or so, as I believe it's used as a
stopover point by them? could I call this the
"Policed" road check for these fast fliers?

Could they have very recently left Tassie?

News hot off the press!

Anthony Overs has just seen (about 10 minutes ago) 30
Swift Parrots flying north from Bateman's Bay
Hospital where there is plenty of lorikeet activity
amongst some spotted gums. As usual they were living
up to their name and flying at amazing speed but they
must be heading for some good tucker to the north of
the bay so keep your eyes and ears peeled and please
let me know if you see any,
