My solution when I find myself on suddenly on nude beaches or with nude
bathers, as happened once in Hawaii, is to swing my binoculars on my back.
That way all they see is a strap  on my neck and it shows that they have
been 'deactivated'. That has always worked for me. Then one walks firmly on
a place with less people and, hopefully, more real birds.
