Here at Maffra, V, the garden has been quiet, birdwise, but today for a
couple of hours from midday, it came alive, with Yellow, Brown, and
Yellow-rumped Thornbills, two Rufous Whistlers, three Golden Whistlers, Two
Grey Shrike-thrushes, Eastern Spinebill, New Holland H.E's, Red Wattlebird,
Grey Fantails, Willie Wagtails, Magpie Lark, Crimson Rosella, Magpies,
Australian Raven, and a small flock of White-winged Choughs, as well as the
usual exotics. The other day 25 Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos called in to
feed in the Hakea eriantha. Duncan Fraser.
