Hi Claire,
I was amazed at the number of birds in such a confined area,
missed recording Black Swan, Sacred Ibis which we also saw. The best
introductory waterbird site in Oz!
No raptors in the relatively short time we were there, but an
Osprey was on the tower at Arthur Cove Reserve on the other side of the
river downstream, with Bar-tailed Godwits, Curlew Sandpiper, Grey
Plovers,Grey-tailed Tattlers, Black-winged Stilts and Pied Oystercatchers
out on the sandbanks.
At another small reserve upstream from Arthur Cove was a
single Common Sandpiper with yellow over orange leg flags, plus Red-capped
Plover, Bar-tailed Godwit and Black-winged Stilt.
                                Cheers
                                     Michael
