Hi there,
Got your email from the ozark list.
I'm trying to find out something about the Helmeted  Friarbird? (phylemon buceroides) from Lombok and one other island close by in Indonesia.
Why I'm asking is that on a recent trip to Lombok I heard it,  but was unable to see it.

I was told this bird it is endemic to Lombok and this "other" island -  In other words the claim was that this bird is found nowhere else in the world.
Locally it is called Koakiau and I would very much like  to know if it is very similar to the Australian Friarbirds, and just a different race ot the three  (york, gordoni and ammitophila) which we have here.

I'm aware that you are the "australian" bird list, but am hoping you may have some affiliation with the Asian or Wallacian one.

Many thanks for your help
