This after-noon, Sunday 27th January, Anne Raymond and I visited Edithvale
Wetlands, Victoria. We compiled a good bird list, the prize
being......Long-toed Stint, found by Anne. But wanting confirmation, Mike
Carter was called. He said it is 95% likely to be a Long-toed Stint. The
other possibility (5%) is a Least Sandpiper. He took numerous photos and
examination of these will resolve the identification.
 
Other good birds were:

3 Crakes: Baillon's, Spotless, Australian Spotted
Peregrine Falcon
Black-fronted Dotterel
Flocks of Sharp-tailed Sandpipers
Magpie Goose

Edithvale Wetlands,  is a great place to visit!
