Bushfires and birds

For the Bird behaviour people,
one of the things we have noticed
(in the Mid Blue Mountains)
is the amazing increase in
window strikes from a large range of birds.

We seem to get two or three every day
and I know Wires is caring for many injured
in this manner.

Perhaps just a large number of displaced birds
flying in unfamiliar territory
or perhaps still suffering from smoke / stress etc.

BTW. thanks for the Fairy Martin suggestions,
we will probably use McGraths Hill which we
visited Wednesday.

(It's still teaming with activity
as was reported last weekend,
We were happy to get Bailons, Spotted Crake
Sharp Tailed SP and Pink Eared Duck
before the weather suddenly turned on us.)

Cheers
