Hi everyone,
while at Rod Laver arena last night watching the tennis I observed a
Nankeen Kestrel which repeatedly dived quite low into the main arena to
catch what I think were moths. This was observed in the early evening
(till about 8.00pm). Once it got dark he didn't return. I have been at
night matches at the tennis for many years and have never seen a kestrel
being so bold, perhaps he has only recently learned to ignore the large
noise factor.
