This is about mammals and twitching, so if you're offended by either of
those topics, please delete now ......
The topic of mammal twitching was discussed for a while in mid-1999 on
Birding-Aus, and there are clearly quite a few birders out there also
interested in mammals. I'm not trying to start a discussion on the merits
of twitching - we all know what we think about that already - not too
interested in receiving any more anti-twitcher hate mail!
I've come up with a checklist based on Peter Menkhorst's field guide, with a
few taxonomic variations. The idea is that anyone who wants to post their
list total and e-mail address on the page is welcome to do so. Just e-mail
me. The web site is designed as a bragging page along the lines of the one
Tony Palliser has for birders, but also to act as a point of contact for
those interested in discussing mammal identification and "where to go" type
Check out the web site
check out the rules, make your list compatible with the one there, and then
e-mail me your total and details for posting on the site.
The web site is still pretty much in draft form, so please send suggestions
for changes, corrections, etc. as well.
Cheers -- Lawrie
