Closure of Rotamah Island Bird Observatory

This is very sad news indeed. As someone who has made at least four
visits to Rotamah, enjoyed its birds, the peace and tranquility, the
friendliness of its wardens, taken overseas visitors there to enjoy the
lake, the ocean and the Australian mammals, I am saddened at this
proposed loss to all birders and nature lovers.

Rotamah Island was considered a fitting place for Prince Charles and
Princess Diana to visit - what about future birders who are hoping to go
there one day and who cannot travel as far as Broome or Cocklebiddy.

Please reconsider, Celia
