Hi All,
Thanks Andrew for the posting on candlepower and wattage, the
first competent explanation I've heard despite asking many times.
I brought back a sealed "gel" battery in hand-luggage from Cairns
ten days ago, along with spotlight, scope and binoculars. They were only
worried that I could beat someone over the head with the scope, but let it
through when told that it was too expensive to abuse that way.
The passenger before me had to surrender a pair of miniature
nail-clippers on the flight up "anything sharp" is taboo. A Customs didact
once made us declare the wooden handle of an English umbrella as "vegetable
material"on return from the UK, and another demanded to hear the recorded
call of a House Crow to prove I wasn't a tape-recorder smuggler.
                                        Cheers
                                               Michael
