hey there fellow birdersim a sydnet resident who was enjoying a picnic at mt sugarloaf which is just outside newcastle, when to my suprise i thought i saw what i believed to be a artichornis rufescens or rufous scrub bird. it was playing in a old fallen tree log about 35m to the left of a large water pond/tank which is just near the top car park. my directions are very poor sorry but not a regular to the area. hoping some locals will be able to comfirm my sighting of this rare bird. i was pretty chuffed to have seen it. thanks and tick it up!
