It is interesting to read of the reports of all the Black-tailed Native
Hens. On Thursday there many more than I had observed before at the
Treatment Plant. There was a colony on the bay side of Little River, west
of the mouth. At the Borrow Pits where there are usually about 12, but there
were at least 40. Next time I am down there I will try a more accurate
account but is seems there are great numbers of B -T Native Hens everywhere.
Although we spent time scanning both Lake Borries' we did not see the
Northern Shoveler, has it moved on?
