Where are the Koels?

Koels have been around the northern Sydney suburbs (Eastwood for a couple of weeks). They have been calling unusually frequently at the University of NSW (Randwick) for a week or more and I heard one in Glebe at the weekend.

Is it just me, or do the Koels seem later than usual this year? I have had Channel-bills around my place at Como (southern Sydney) for over a week, and everything else seems to be back and in full swing, but no Koels yet. Have they missed the early spring, or are they still on time?
Cheers,
Peter
