Some highlights from a busy weekend of birding on SW Slopes and Morton NP.

Saturday, 29 September

Gunnary Stock Res. - 32 spp.

Superb Parrots (4)
Brown Quail (4) - along track
Stubble Quail (2) - in fenced-off area of kangaroo grass, both quail
species within 100 m of each other
Sacred Kingfisher (1) - first for season for me.
Little Friarbird (3)
Crested Shrike-tit (1)
Brown Treecreeper (4)

Narallan - 23 spp.

Superb Parrots (22+) - feeding in flowering White Box
Little Friarbird (1)
Peaceful Dove (1)
Rufous Songlark (2)
Crested Shrike-tit (1)
Brown Treecreeper (2)

Murringo Gap - 26 spp.

Superb Parrot (1)

Morongla - 23 spp.

Little Friarbird (4)
Crested Shrike-tit (1)
Rufous Songlark (3)
Horsfield's Bronze-Cuckoo (1)

Sunday, 30 September

Corang (Morton NP) - 30 spp.

Chestnut-rumped Heathwren (1) - many more calling
