I am staying with a friend who is now profoundly deaf after meningitis.
It is not far from my home but now I look onto the back of the Research Farm
which is bounded by very tall and old pines.

I am delighted to see two Hobbies flying around.
* Are they courting?
* Would their nest be used from one year to the next?
* I cannot see them on or in the nest and they do not seem to return to this
collection of sticks in the pines
* They do some calling as when they are both flying.
The weather has not allowed me to make closer observations. Caring for my
friend limits time too.

Hope to get to the You Yangs on Saturday.
