Hi all

Went and saw the Freckled Ducks at the Shortland Wetland Centre near Newcastle , yesterday. Only two seem to be present now. When I got home and checked my records, I had seen Freckled Ducks 13 years ago at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve near Canberra. Can anyone tell me whether these would have been "wild birds" or part of a captive breeding release program? In fact does any one know how many Freckled Ducks have been released into the wild and if so has it been successful?

Cheers
