Hi Folks,
I recently purchased my first
spotting scope after relying on an old pair of cheap 10x50 binos for many years.
I didn't really wish to spend a fortune on a scope and I set myself a limit of
$500.00. Most of the scopes I looked at (mostly via the internet) were well over
$1000.00 and while I knew these high quality scopes would be a pleasure to use,
I wanted something cheaper. I eventually settled on a Tasco scope, Model 28TZB
(15x - 36x zoom) at the very reasonable price of $295.00. So far I have been
very happy with it and as a first scope in the budget price range I
recommend it. The only negative thing I have found with it is the very touchy
focus at full magnification (36x).
Happy birding,
David Cameron
