I came across the following info at
http://www.qmuseum.qld.gov.au/stepinside/events/calendar.asp regarding a
workshop at the QLD Museum, it may be of interest to some:

Sat 28 July 2001 9:30 am - 1 pm

Presented by Greg Czechura, Inquiry Centre and raptor expert.
Eagles, hawks, kites and falcons soar to great heights and are seldom
seen at close range. identification must depend on wing shapes, flight
patterns and other behaviours as seen from below. Learn how to identify
raptors, record observations and add them to the scientific record.
