G'day All,
Iv'e been away for a few days and just read  Bob Forsyth's bit about What Bird is That...a few years ago I tried to find a book to give me the meanings of scientific names...and then I stumbled on Caley's..some are a bit out of date but it certainly is better than nothing. I did own one but mislaid it over the years although I still have a soft covered copy, but the old, hard covers are the ones  for what we need...mine cost $20..a friend picked it up in Adelaide for me. I spent Sat. night at Gluepot Reserve with my recording gear ready and no Masked Owl called...but...it called for several minutes on Fri and Sun nights...that is the way things go..aye ?
