Sorry about my lack of clarity.  Bryans swamp is located just south of the Grampians in western Victoria.  It is a Game Reserve and is usually dry by the end of February but this year (I haven't been there since the shooting started in March) it appears to have retained water through until now.
Access to the western end, where most of the open water and large reed beds are located is through private property.  It is possible to walk through it even when full as it only gets to about 4.5 feet.
