Hello Andrew and others

Number 40 ASHY

As in Ashy-grey Crow Shrike (Cracticus cinereus) Gould, Handbk. Bds. Aust., Vol. 1, sp. 100, p. 186.

See also A. J. North, Descriptive Catalogue of the Nests & Eggs of Birds found breeding in Aust. & Tasmania. 1889 Page 63

Now who wants to argue which list?

Which raises the possibility of trying to see every colour Australian
bird. I had a quick go and came up with 38 colours found in Australian
bird names:

Azure Black Blue Bronze Brown Buff Chestnut Cinnamon Citrine Emerald
Fawn Flame Flesh Golden Green Grey Leaden Nankeen Nutmeg Olive Orange
Pink Purple Red Rose Ruddy Rufous Russet Scarlet Silver Slaty Sooty
Straw Sulphur Tawny Turquoise White Yellow

I may have missed some colours and you can argue about whether dusky,
fuscous, satin etc are colours. I've seen all but Cinnamon and Citrine.
