Pink Robin-brown bird

For many years one Pink Robin, brown bird, has been near the Victorian State
Rose Garden Werribee. Today  I was at the Open Range Zoo, very close to the
Rose Garden, and there was the Pink Robin, foraging in the recently tilled
and mulched soil.  Why do we only see the female?   Is it the same bird we
see each year?
