'Day Russell & All, I am afraid it does happen Russell - some call it beginner's luck! I think it quite feasible that your father saw a Grey Falcon at Kow Swamp (Nth Victoria). Chris T lists some or the more recent sightings of which I've also heard. Some of the long time birdwatchers of the area report them as turning up "from time to time". It would be interesting to note what time of the year the other sightings were observed. It seems fairly typical to me to have GF's perch on a power pole. Like Chris T I would be most interested in the exact location of the sighting. Keep an eye out for me in the area if you get to Kow Swamp Chris T.
