G'day all,
This year the White-throated Nightjars started to arrive in the Townsville Railway Workshops on the 10th March. The numbers have dropped (from previous years) but at least they seem to be continuing on through. The greatest number on any day was 7. It appears that their migration has now finished for this year as none have been seen since the 17th of May. This year only about 4 (that we know of) have been taken by feral cats.

Also of interest in the Workshops on the 11th was a Barn Owl (plus 5 Nightjars).

The Bush-stone Curlews are now congregating into large groups with about 30 reported at the sporting complex in and around the soccer nets.

Marleen.
