The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) presents the
consensus of hundreds of leading researchers in the relevant fields.
These people have devoted their lives to understanding complex areas
of study - head for a uni library and look at a text on atmospheric
radiative physics, for example, and see what I mean by complex.

These researchers haven't chosen their career because of the renumeration
which is just as well - because there are better paid and easier jobs.
Few of them will have government cars - most will work for universities
or other research organizations which in my experience don't give
researchers cars.

It irritates me tremendously when I see cheap shots like this at
years of difficult and painstaking work.

I wonder if Kym Bennet has even taken the time to read the IPCC executive
summaries. You can find them by following links from the IPCC home page
at http://www.ipcc.ch/ You can also find the full reports from the IPCC
working groups on the web.
