bustards in central qld

What I find intriguing about the Bustard population debate is how well they
seem to have hung on in what appear to be well-farmed and settled areas of
central Queensland. I've always found them easy to come across out there,
from Roma north and westwards, and I've seen them in loose groupings of 10>
on occasions including lekking males - as Dion Hobcroft said, an absolutely
extraordinary sight.
