Hi everybody -

See below a notice about EMU. If you have never looked at a copy, here's
an opportunity to peruse a full year's worth of scientific papers about
birds (and some other material, such as reviews and obituaries) in what has
always been one of BA's core activities.

Cheers,
Hugo
------------------------------------

Emu, Australia's premier ornithological journal, has been published for the
last 100 years by Birds Australia (the Royal Australasian Ornithologists
Union) and has been edited most recently by Ian Rowley. With Ian's
retirement as Editor, Birds Australia has signed an agreement appointing
CSIRO Publishing as the publisher of Emu, with Birds Australia retaining
ownership and copyright. A new Editorial Advisory Committee has been
appointed and the Managing Editor of Emu is David Morton of CSIRO
Publishing. The Journal will be produced in both print and electronic
formats.

Emu is now available online, with free trial access to all papers in Volume
100 (2000) until 1 May 2001. To find out more about the 'new' Emu,
including the Editorial Advisory Committee, papers in press, how to
subscribe, and information for authors, please visit the website at:

The first issue of Volume 101 will be published in March 2001.
